Volunteering & Placements

At Watford Women's Centre Plus, volunteering is about giving your time to a good cause. You don't get paid, but you do get the chance to develop new skills, gain confidence, use your talents and meet new people.

Without our volunteers, we would not be able to help the amount of people we do and we really appreciate the time and support our volunteers give us. We have many different types of roles at WWC from supporting our advisors in the job club, to volunteering as a teaching assistant to helping us keep the premises clean.

At the Women's centre we run a Career Investment Project which is a new initiative funded by the National Lottery, this project is to support women back into employment and/or training. We can provide volunteering placements with various companies to help gain skills and build confidence. We also provide workshops on subjects like confidentiality, boundaries, and team work. One to one support is also provided for all volunteers.

All our volunteers have an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check due to the nature of our charity, this is provided at no cost to the volunteer. For more information on DBS please check Disclosure Barring Service.
