Why work with us?
We are a long standing and ambitious organisation, led by and for women in our local community.
When you join our team, you become part of our life-changing work, supporting women to cope and recover from suffering domestic abuse and to rebuild their lives. We also work to provide opportunities for people in our local community through our employability and training courses.
Read more about our Values and our Services here.
We recruit people who are passionate about what we do and support them to ensure we are a team that is motivated and committed to learning and sharing. We continually work to enable staff to develop and learn and we understand the benefits of a healthy work/life balance. We value diversity because we believe the variety of ideas, perspectives and experiences it brings creates an effective environment in which talents can be fully utilised to achieve our goals. We are committed to providing equality of opportunity and actively seek to recruit people from groups underrepresented in our current team.
All staff will undergo a DBS check.
Why volunteer with us?
We truly value the work of passionate and committed volunteers (women aged 18+) who enable us to provide life-changing support that women in our local community need. We welcome and value volunteers’ involvement and the contribution they make to Watford Women’s Centre through their skills, experience and energy.
Volunteering benefits you too, through meeting new people and learning new skills, as well as knowing that you have made a real difference to our community.
So if you are passionate about making a positive change in our local community and have some time to spare, we would love to hear from you!
Throughout the year, we seek volunteers in a range of areas which may include:
- classroom assistants
- admin/reception work
- fundraising
- social media
If you decide to volunteer for the Centre we will provide you with the support and development you need to carry out your role and achieve your personal goals. We are proud that many of our paid staff began their journey with us as volunteers and countless more have used the skills and experience gained as a volunteer to move into paid work of their choice.
If you have an expert skill you’d like to share, or even just think you’d make a fun team member, then we may have a space for you! For general volunteer opportunities available throughout the year please download and complete an application form, and email it to general@watfordwomenscentre.org.uk
All volunteers will undergo a DBS check.
